Intelligent Document Processing (IDP): A Primer

Enterprise business processes often revolve around document handling. Most document processing continues to be done manually, with significant employee effort spent on document review and processing, which is time- and effort-intensive and often leads to high costs and long turnaround times. With the emergence of Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) solutions, this situation is changing rapidly.

IDP solutions use Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to automate document classification and data extraction, and can handle semi-structured and unstructured documents. Enterprises can achieve significant benefits by leveraging IDP, including lower processing costs, faster turnaround times, and higher extraction accuracy rates.

In this study, we discuss the key factors that enterprise leaders need to consider to ensure successful outcomes when adopting IDP. We also describe the approach to identify the right processes for IDP adoption.
