The pandemic has accelerated the pace of digital transformation, specifically the rise in adoption of cloud, hybrid environments, and other emerging technologies. However, it has also increased the attack surface and exposed loopholes in the enterprise cybersecurity constructs, as the security teams deal with safeguarding access to enterprise infrastructure for the distributed workforce. Not only has the pandemic exaggerated the already existing enterprise challenges around alert overload, cybersecurity talent shortage, lack of threat management capabilities, etc., but has also uncovered the inability of enterprises to manage and thwart these ever-growing attacks.

Managed security service providers have gained traction because of their ability to provide agility, scale, cost-savings, and resiliency during these tough times. Enterprises are seeking third-party support from these providers for intelligence-led threat hunting and detection, orchestration and automation of alerts underpinned by modular, platform-led operations, reduced incident response times, and cyber forensics.

In this research, we present detailed assessments of 28 service providers featured on the IT Managed Security Services (MSS) PEAK Matrix® and categorize them as Leaders, Major Contenders, and Aspirants based on their capabilities and offerings. Each profile provides a comprehensive picture of the service provider’s service focus, key Intellectual Property (IP) / solutions, and domain investments.
