Cost-optimization initiatives are among the top organizational priorities to not only preserve value, but also emerge stronger from COVID-19-induced disruptions. As organizations look for new avenues to drive cost reductions, they should focus on the procurement and supply chain functions due to their ability to influence direct and indirect costs. While the business focuses on sustaining/improving top-line growth, procurement and supply chain can lead cost-reduction initiatives to improve the bottom line and profitability.
One of the levers often overlooked by procurement and supply chain leaders as they try to drive enterprise-wide cost reductions is digital technology. In this study, we explore how companies can leverage digital technologies across procurement and supply chain to drive sustainable cost reductions across direct and indirect spend areas to help businesses emerge stronger from the economic downturn and outpace competition.
