Introduction

In June 2013, Everest Group and Cloud Connect launched the Innovation through Cloud in Enterprise (ICE) Awards program aimed to recognize companies with demonstrated success in leveraging cloud computing. The implementation was required to have resulted in one or more of the following: significant positive impact on shareholders; striking business impact in terms of revenue; notable technology transformation; and achievement of organizational transformation.

In its inaugural year, four finalists were chosen, each with a transformative cloud story to tell – Columbia Sportswear, LanguageLine Solutions, Revlon Inc. and Schneider Electric. After careful consideration, the judges panel selected Revlon as the first-ever winner of the ICE Award.

Under the guidance of Senior Vice President and CIO David Giambruno, Revlon truly transformed its business through cloud computing. In the time span of four years, it migrated from a complex and disintegrated legacy IT environment to a private cloud (Revlon Cloud) by embracing the philosophy of “Oneness.” This complimentary case study outlines Revlon’s transformative journey that increased its IT capability and security levels; improved business agility speed; and increased consumerization while reducing IT management costs.
